VFD Group Plc has appointed Mrs Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo as its Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director, effective October 5, 2026, subject to shareholder approval at a General Meeting and the required regulatory approvals.
Emezie-Ezigbo joins the leadership of the financial services group with more than two decades of experience spanning corporate finance, transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation and strategic financial management.
Career Trajectory
Her career has covered Nigeria, Canada and the wider African market, with senior roles at KPMG, IBM Canada, Canadian Tire Corporation and Stanbic IBTC.
She most recently served as Partner and Head of Transaction Services, West Africa, at KPMG Nigeria, where she led the Transaction Services and Valuations practice across the region. In the role, she advised clients on mergers and acquisitions, financial and commercial due diligence, valuations and strategic transactions, while leading multidisciplinary teams on complex investments and corporate transactions.
Emezie-Ezigbo joined KPMG Nigeria in 2002 as an Audit Analyst and later returned to the firm in 2006 as Manager in Financial Advisory Services, focusing on corporate finance and transaction services. She subsequently rose through the firm’s Deal Advisory practice, becoming Senior Manager in 2015, Associate Director in 2016 and Partner in 2017.
She became Partner and Head of Transaction Services in 2020 before taking on the broader West Africa leadership role in 2023. Before returning to KPMG, Emezie-Ezigbo worked at Stanbic IBTC as an Investment Officer in Treasury and Investment Management, where she managed institutional pension fund portfolios and contributed to investment strategy development.
She later moved to Canada, working as a Financial Analyst in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis at Canadian Tire Corporation between 2011 and 2012. She then joined IBM Canada as Lead Financial Analyst for Consolidations and Planning, providing financial leadership for major outsourcing and technology service contracts.
At IBM, she was responsible for revenue analysis, cost forecasting, capital planning and performance reporting and developed financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Education
Emezie-Ezigbo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing), First Class Honours, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
She obtained a Master of Finance degree from Cass Business School, London, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Associate Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA UK), a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Ontario) and a Certified Valuation Analyst of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).
