Driving Asset Integrity and Operational Safety
According to the company, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the structural integrity of civil and structural assets across Renaissance operations.
The role includes managing integrity assessments, coordinating maintenance activities, supporting engineering design reviews and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and technical standards.
The engineer will lead structural condition surveys, defect investigations, load assessments and life-extension studies while providing technical assurance for brownfield modification projects.
Responsibilities also include reviewing engineering calculations, designs and drawings to ensure compliance with internationally recognized standards such as API, AISC, British Standards, Eurocodes and ISO requirements.
Supporting Maintenance and Engineering Excellence
As part of the company’s broader asset management strategy, the engineer will help implement reliability-centered maintenance programs, maintain civil asset registers and support maintenance planning through accurate data management systems.
The role also involves supervising contractors and inspection agencies responsible for civil and structural maintenance projects, ensuring that all activities are delivered safely, efficiently and within required quality standards.
In addition, the successful applicant will participate in facility audits, hazard identification exercises and management-of-change processes while collaborating closely with operations, project teams, health and safety personnel and external service providers.
Extensive Infrastructure Portfolio
The position supports Renaissance assets across multiple operational regions and covers a broad portfolio of infrastructure, including foundations, platforms, buildings, pipe racks, culverts, retaining walls, concrete structures, steel frameworks, jetties, storage tanks, roads, bridges and other critical civil safety elements.
Given the scale and complexity of the assets involved, the company is seeking a candidate with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities and experience managing multidisciplinary engineering activities in operational environments.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and be registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is also required.
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of civil or structural engineering experience within the oil and gas industry or other heavy industrial sectors.
Experience in structural design, asset integrity management, degradation analysis, remediation planning, project management and contractor supervision will be highly advantageous.
The company is also seeking professionals with strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in structural analysis and engineering assessment tools.
