Ingentia Energies Limited, a leading independent oil exploration and production company is hiring an internal auditor to help develop its internal audit strategies.

 

Responsibilities

– Develop and implement internal audit strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational transparency.
– Prepare annual risk-based internal audit plans and programmes for Board Finance & Strategy Committee approval.
– Execute approved audit plans, including special reviews requested by Management or the Board Committee.
– Review and update the audit universe and strategy in line with business changes and risk assessments.
– Document audit work across the ORCA spectrum through to findings and conclusions.
– Follow up on agreed corrective action plans with process owners to ensure timely implementation.
– Update and maintain the Internal Audit Operating Procedures Manual.
– Liaise with all departments to ensure successful delivery of audit plans and recommendations.
– Collaborate with Compliance & Risk Management to prepare quarterly internal control effectiveness reports for the Board.
– Investigate significant breaches of the Code of Business Conduct and suspected fraud cases.
– Prepare and present audit and investigation results to Executive Management and the Board Committee.
– Draft reports on management’s actions to address audit findings and recommend further follow-up where needed.
– Coordinate with internal/external assurance bodies and drive IT audits across systems, databases, and networks.

Requirements

– Minimum of a First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline
– MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
– Professional certification required (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CRMA, etc.)
– 8–12 years progressive experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance
– Prior experience in an Audit and Accounting firm is required
– Experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry is an advantage
