Luno Expands Cryptocurrency Offerings with LINK and UNI Addition

With an aim of expanding its cryptocurrency offerings, Luno, a global cryptocurrency platform, has today announced an addition of two more cryptocurrencies, Chainlink (LINK) and Uniswap (UNI), to its platform.

Announcing the development via a statement earlier today, the company said, the official launch of these additions would enable users to buy, sell and store LINK and UNI on the Luno app and website, alongside its existing cryptocurrency offering.

With continuing interest in the wider applications of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in everything from trying to improve insurance payouts to enabling more immersive gaming experiences, Luno said it wants to ensure that its over 9 million customers have access to these wider investment opportunities.

Speaking further on this development, Luno’s General Manager for Africa, Marius Reitz, said, while it is important to note that Luno’s newer crypto applications are still in their early stages, the company has always taken a measured approach towards introducing new coins on its platform, ensuring it delivers careful guidance, rigorous security and a compelling reason for its global customer base to use them

“In a continent such as Africa, a region which has the largest potential in the world for the day-to-day utility of cryptocurrencies, these selection criteria holds even more significance. With this in mind, we believe LINK and UNI’s core properties could see them becoming an integral part of Africa’s digital asset revolution and that’s why we’re excited to give our customers access to them through the safe and secure experience we offer on our platform.”

It is important to note that, while LINK and UNI meet Luno standards for safety, being listed on Luno is not an endorsement of its future potential as an investment. Luno assesses prospective assets based on factors like security, compliance, and utility, but will always suggest anyone looking to invest in crypto should do their own research and exercise good judgement before investing.
