The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), after a temporary disruption, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate the 2026/2027 admission process.
JAMB announced the restoration on Monday, saying CAPS is now fully operational and calling on institutions to recover lost time ahead of the approved admission deadlines.
“With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines,” the board said.
The development comes as schools continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
JAMB also urged candidates who receive admission offers to promptly accept them to avoid delays in the admission process.
The board set October 31, 2026, as the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise for public universities, while private universities have until November 30 to conclude their admissions.
Other tertiary institutions are required to complete their admission processes by December 31, 2026.
Candidates Asked to Upload 2026 NECO Results
JAMB also asked candidates who had previously been awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results.
The board said the step was necessary to ensure that candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.
“Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly,” JAMB said.
The board urged candidates, institutions and other stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and proceed with the admission process within the approved timelines.
JAMB also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
