The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now access and print their original result slips, a key document required for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The examination body disclosed on Wednesday that the original result slips would become available for printing shortly after the announcement, allowing candidates to begin preparations for post-UTME screening exercises and admission applications.
According to JAMB, the original result slip contains important information beyond the scores previously released to candidates.
The document includes the candidate’s passport photograph, national ranking, and several security features used by universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education during admission verification processes.
The board noted that candidates can conveniently print the document from any internet-enabled device or through accredited computer-based centres nationwide.
The release of the original result slips comes weeks after the completion of the 2026 UTME exercise and the subsequent mop-up examination conducted for candidates who experienced technical challenges or biometric verification issues during the main examination.
JAMB had delayed the issuance of the slips to allow the conclusion of foreign-based examinations and the mop-up exercise, ensuring that all eligible candidates were accommodated before final admission processes commenced.
Results from the mop-up examination were released on June 16, paving the way for the board to make the official result slips available to all candidates.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the development, noting that many tertiary institutions have either commenced or are preparing to begin registration for post-UTME screening exercises for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Candidates are advised to carefully review all details on their result slips after printing and keep multiple copies for future admission-related requirements.
With universities and other higher institutions gradually opening their admission portals, the availability of the original result slips is expected to accelerate the admission process for thousands of prospective students across the country.
