Recent graduates in Nigeria now have the opportunity to gain industry-relevant technology skills through a newly launched ₦250 million scholarship initiative aimed at improving employability and creating pathways into the tech industry.
The scholarship fund was announced by entrepreneur Tunde Onakoya, alongside Hacksultan and Sam Otigba, with the goal of supporting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and recent graduates who want to build careers in technology.

Under the initiative, successful applicants will receive a ₦160,000 scholarship toward a 9–12 month diploma programme at AltSchool Africa.
Beneficiaries can choose from any of the available diploma programmes offered by the institution, allowing them to pursue a career path that aligns with their interests and goals.
In addition to technical training, participants will benefit from career development support, including internship and job opportunities facilitated through Sam Otigba, helping graduates transition from learning to employment.
Recognising that access to a computer remains a major challenge for many aspiring learners, the organisers also announced that selected scholarship recipients will receive laptops through a separate application process.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to equip more young Nigerians with practical, in-demand digital skills that can improve their chances of securing meaningful employment.
