Popular Nigerian comedian and activist Mr Macaroni has partnered with TechCrush to launch fully funded tech scholarships for 100 young Africans seeking careers in technology.

The initiative, announced on Thursday, is designed to expand access to digital skills training by removing financial barriers for young people across the continent, with a strong focus on Nigerian applicants.

Branded the Mr Macaroni TechCrush Scholarship, the programme will provide selected candidates with free access to training in 20 in-demand technology fields, including software development, cybersecurity, data science, product management, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital marketing, and business analysis.

According to details released by the organisers, beneficiaries will participate in online classes, complete hands-on capstone projects, receive mentorship, and earn industry-recognised certificates on completion.

The available learning paths include backend development, frontend development, mobile app development, Web3 and blockchain, ethical hacking, AI prompt engineering, AI automation, technical writing, virtual assistance, and project management.

Organisers said selected scholars would also gain access to CV and LinkedIn profile optimisation, a personalised learning management dashboard, community support resources, and participation opportunities in the TechCrush Buildathon.

The programme is said to be accredited by the American Council for Training and Development.

How to Apply

Applications for the Mr Macaroni x TechCrush round opened on April 30, 2026, and will close on May 2, 2026, giving interested applicants a narrow application window.

Eligible applicants must be aged 16 years and above, reside in Africa, and demonstrate interest in building a career in technology. Most beginner-level tracks do not require prior experience.
