Apple is changing what Nigerian users get from its iCloud+ subscription, adding Apple TV and Apple Arcade to the service at no extra charge as the company expands its bundled digital-services strategy across more than 100 countries.
The expanded iCloud+ plan starts at ₦1,300 a month for 50GB of storage in Nigeria and combines cloud storage with access to Apple’s streaming and gaming services.
For Nigerian users, the change is particularly significant because Apple TV is becoming available in the country for the first time through the expanded iCloud+ offering.
What Nigerian iCloud+ subscribers now get
Under the new arrangement, an iCloud+ subscription will cover more than cloud storage.
Subscribers will be able to use iCloud to back up, store and share content across Apple devices while also accessing Apple TV and Apple Arcade without paying separate subscription fees.
Apple says Family Sharing will allow an iCloud+ subscription to be shared with up to five other family members.
Apple TV provides access to the company’s catalogue of original series, films, documentaries and children’s programming. Its catalogue includes titles such as Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, CODA and F1.
Apple says its original productions have received more than 900 awards from more than 3,800 nominations since the launch of Apple TV in 2019.
Apple Arcade joins the bundle
The package also gives Nigerian subscribers access to Apple Arcade, Apple’s gaming subscription service.
The service has more than 200 games, including Football Manager 26 Touch, NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Sneaky Sasquatch and Subway Surfers+.
Apple Arcade games can be played across compatible iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV devices.
Unlike many mobile games, Apple says its Arcade catalogue does not include advertisements or in-app purchases. Games can also be played offline.
That makes the new bundle relevant beyond iPhone owners who primarily need additional storage: households using multiple Apple devices can now combine storage, entertainment and gaming under one subscription.
Existing Apple TV and Arcade subscribers in Nigeria will be moved
The expansion also changes how Apple TV and Apple Arcade are sold in Nigeria.
Apple says the two services will no longer be offered as standalone subscriptions in Nigeria following the rollout.
Customers who already subscribe separately will continue to have access through their iCloud+ subscription, while their existing individual subscriptions will be cancelled.
Apple says saved game progress and data on Apple Arcade will be preserved during the transition.
Apple Music gets a separate Nigeria offer
The expanded iCloud+ package also introduces access to Apple Music Select, a collection of ad-free, Apple-programmed music stations available through the Apple Music app.
This is not the same as a full Apple Music subscription.
However, iCloud+ subscribers in Nigeria who want the full on-demand Apple Music service can subscribe through Apple at a discounted price of ₦1,500 a month for an Individual plan or ₦2,500 for a Family plan.
The full Apple Music service includes features such as Spatial Audio, lyrics translation and AutoMix, alongside its wider catalogue and playlists.
Why the ₦1,300 starting price matters
The new Nigerian iCloud+ structure effectively changes the value proposition of Apple’s entry-level cloud-storage subscription.
Previously, the primary reason to pay for iCloud+ was additional storage and related privacy features. Apple is now attaching entertainment services to that recurring payment, potentially making the subscription more useful to households already paying for Apple devices and services.
The starting price is ₦1,300 per month for 50GB, with larger storage tiers also available.
Apple is rolling out the expanded offering through the end of September across more than 100 countries and regions. Apple TV is also expanding into 59 additional countries as part of the rollout, bringing its total availability to 170 countries.
The availability of individual features, programmes and games can vary depending on the country, device and service.
For Nigerian Apple users, however, the immediate change is straightforward: iCloud+ is becoming an entertainment bundle as well as a cloud-storage service, with Apple TV and Apple Arcade included in the monthly subscription.
