Air Peace recorded the highest number of delayed domestic flights among Nigerian airlines in August 2026, with 1,330 delayed operations, according to data from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The airline, which operated the highest number of domestic flights during the month, recorded 1,330 delays out of 1,864 flights. It also had seven cancellations.
United Nigeria Airlines ranked second with 943 delayed flights from 1,231 operations, while Enugu Air recorded 582 delays from 878 flights. Value Jet followed with 435 delays from 767 operations.
Other airlines recorded 254 delays for Ibom Air, 246 for Aero, 216 for Rano Air, 204 for Max Air, 188 for Arik, 139 for Overland, 114 for Green Africa, 52 for Umza Air, 40 for XE Jet and 22 for Binani. Ngeagle recorded no delayed flights during the period.
Overall, Nigerian domestic airlines operated 7,961 flights in August, with 4,765 experiencing delays. That means about 60% of all domestic flights operated during the month were delayed. The airlines also recorded 36 cancellations.
Air Peace Had 108 Delays of More Than Three Hours
Air Peace’s 1,330 delayed flights included 666 delays lasting between 16 minutes and one hour. Another 400 flights were delayed for between one and two hours, while 156 experienced delays of two to three hours. A further 108 flights were delayed for at least three hours.
The figures make Air Peace the airline with the highest absolute number of delayed operations during the month, although its larger flight schedule also contributed to the higher total.
United Nigeria recorded 442 delays of between 16 minutes and one hour, 344 lasting one to two hours, 116 lasting two to three hours and 41 lasting three hours or more. The airline recorded eight cancellations, the highest among the carriers listed.
Enugu Air recorded 343 short delays, 153 delays of one to two hours, 40 delays of two to three hours and 46 delays lasting at least three hours. It also cancelled four flights.
Value Jet recorded 313 delays of between 16 minutes and one hour, 98 of one to two hours, 20 of two to three hours and four of at least three hours. It had three cancellations.
Ibom Air operated 560 flights and recorded 254 delays and three cancellations, while Aero operated 469 flights and had 246 delays without any cancellations. Rano Air recorded 216 delays from 503 flights and three cancellations. Max Air operated 336 flights, with 204 delays and four cancellations.
Green Africa recorded 114 delays from 226 flights and three cancellations and at the lower end of the table, Binani operated 57 flights and recorded 22 delays, while XE Jet operated 127 flights and recorded 40 delays. Umza Air also recorded 52 delays, all within the 16-minute-to-one-hour category.
