Air Peace Limited has announced an opening for the position of Head of Supply Chain, a senior management role within its Engineering and Maintenance Department based in Lagos.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Technical Director and will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that support operational efficiency, cost control, and service excellence across the airline’s operations.
According to the vacancy announcement, the role covers key functions including procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, supplier relationship management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Supply Chain will oversee the availability of aircraft parts, materials, tools, and other critical resources required for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.
Other responsibilities include:
- Leading procurement, warehousing, logistics, inventory, and contract management teams.
- Developing strategies aimed at improving operational performance and reducing costs.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), maintenance organizations, and strategic vendors.
- Monitoring supplier performance, compliance requirements, and risk management processes.
- Overseeing inventory planning for aircraft components, consumables, and ground support equipment.
- Ensuring timely availability of materials to prevent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
- Optimizing logistics networks and distribution systems.
- Ensuring compliance with customs regulations, hazardous goods requirements, and trade controls.
- Collaborating with Quality Assurance teams on material recalls and non-conformance issues.
- Managing annual supply chain budgets and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The role also involves mentoring team members, driving process improvement projects, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and security standards across supply chain operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Air Peace is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is considered an added advantage.
Applicants are expected to possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation technical procurement and supply chain management.
- At least five years of leadership or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of aviation supply chain standards, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and maintenance systems such as SAP, Oracle, or AMOS.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Proven expertise in risk management, compliance, and process optimization.
