London Names Bus Stop After ‘London Bus Aunty’

Nigerian-born TikTok personality Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as “London Bus Aunty,” has said Transport for London named a bus stop in her honour. Orojuogun, a nurse who has lived in the United Kingdom for more than three decades, shared the news in a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday.

Expressing excitement over the recognition, she thanked TfL and its staff for their work in maintaining London’s transport system. “Bus Aunty have her own bus stop. My goodness, I’m very lucky. Thank you so much, TfL,” she said.

She also praised TfL workers, including those working behind the scenes, for their contribution to keeping London’s public transport network running. “We love you and we appreciate you. These are the people behind the scenes of TfL and I love and appreciate every single one of them,” she added.

TfL appeared to acknowledge her post, commenting, “What an honour for us.”

Orojuogun became an internet sensation through videos in which she poses alongside London’s iconic red double-decker buses. Her distinctive content has attracted tens of millions of views across social media platforms. Her popularity has also led to collaborations with TfL, the Mayor of London and several international brands.
