A warehouse belonging to online retail group Wildberries was hit by an overnight Ukrainian drone strike on Russia marking the latest attack on properties belonging to the retail group which Ukraine insists is helping Russia prosecute the war.
Ukraine insists Russia is leveraging the company’s logistical networks to supply the Russian military with drone components and military equipment. The country believes Russia’s version of Amazon is being used for the transfer of parts used to produce drones used in attacks on Ukrainian cities.
The company owned by Tatyana Kim processes roughly 20 million orders every day, serves millions of customers and operates one of the largest logistics networks in Eurasia which Ukraine believes is being leveraged by Russia.
In a Telegram post on Tuesday, Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces said that over the course of 18 days, Ukrainian deep-strike drones had targeted 15 Wildberries facilities and burned down 13. The overnight drone strikes followed a Ukrainian strike on Monday that killed seven people, including three children and injured fourty, after the weapon hit a crowded beach in the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik, in the southern Krasnodar region. Forty other people were injured, with 17 taken to hospital, according to local authorities.
