About the Role
The IT Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, and operational processes. The role combines technical leadership with strategic planning, ensuring technology services remain secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will drive operational excellence while introducing innovative technologies that improve performance and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT operations team, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
- Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, virtualization environments, and data centres.
- Develop and implement IT policies, operational procedures, and security standards aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Manage incident response, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives to minimise service disruptions.
- Partner with business units on system integrations, software deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation projects.
- Manage IT budgets, technology vendors, procurement processes, and service contracts to maximise operational value.
- Conduct regular infrastructure audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability reviews to strengthen cybersecurity.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Prepare regular reports on IT performance, system availability, uptime, and service-level metrics for executive management.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT operations.
- At least 3 years of leadership or management experience overseeing enterprise IT teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex IT infrastructure in a fast-paced organisation.
- Strong expertise in:
- Cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Enterprise networking
- Virtualization technologies
- Cybersecurity
- Experience implementing IT service management frameworks such as ITIL or DevOps.
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring platforms such as Nagios or Zabbix.
- Experience with scripting languages including Python and PowerShell.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
