Key Responsibilities
- Provide passport, citizenship, and consular services to U.S. citizens in Nigeria’s southern consular district
- Serve as a primary point of contact for U.S. citizens requiring assistance
- Communicate directly with applicants and citizens in emergency or distress situations
- Support preparation of emergency communications and website updates
- Assist in crisis response and preparedness activities alongside consular officers
- Maintain professional relationships with local officials and external contacts
- Perform administrative duties and support other consular units as required
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Completion of at least two years of college or university studies is required
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in:
- Administrative work, or
- Case management, or
- Customer service roles
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to act independently and exercise sound judgment
- Strong sense of initiative, tact, and discretion
- Ability to handle sensitive information and uphold privacy standards
- Capacity to engage professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to maintain working relationships with government and institutional contacts
