Victor Agbaroji has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Ingentia Energies Limited. He is tasked with the responsibility of leading the organization into its next chapter of consolidation and strategic expansion.
Agbaroji brings more than three decades of experience across oil and gas engineering, asset management, operations, portfolio planning and business development, with a career spanning Nigerian and international energy companies.
Extensive Shell and Upstream Experience
Before his latest role, Agbaroji spent some time as Chief Operating Officer of PeerGroup LLC in Houston, a position he has held since January 2023.
Before moving to PeerGroup, Agbaroji spent more than four years at First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the OML 26 Asset Management Team under the NPDC–First Hydrocarbon Nigeria joint venture from March 2020 to January 2023.
He previously served as Technical & Development Manager at First Hydrocarbon Nigeria from January 2019 to March 2020 having built his earlier career at Shell, where he held several technical, portfolio and leadership positions.
At Shell Global Solutions International B.V. in the Netherlands, Agbaroji served as Resource One Operations Manager for the Hydrocarbon Portfolio Team from July 2014 to 2018. His responsibilities included managing a global team of consultants, supporting reserves and resources reporting, and driving optimisation of reporting processes and systems across Shell’s operations.
Before that, he spent more than a decade with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited in Port Harcourt. His roles included Subsurface Studies Lead, Senior Portfolio Analyst, Senior Reservoir Engineer and Senior Integrated Activity Planner.
Agbaroji began his oil and gas career at Oiltest Nigeria Limited, where he worked as a Field Engineer in testing services from 1995 to 2000, focusing on well testing and data acquisition.
Engineering Background
Agbaroji holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, which he completed in 1995.
He subsequently obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Oil & Gas Engineering through a Shell and Robert Gordon University Special Intensive Training Programme.
His appointment comes with extensive experience in upstream operations, reservoir engineering, asset management, corporate planning, reserves reporting and stakeholder management. At Ingentia Energies, his mandate will include guiding the company through its next chapter of consolidation while pursuing strategic expansion.
