The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a revised schedule for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation exercise in Enugu and Osun states.
In a statement released on Monday by the scheme’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC confirmed that the orientation course for prospective corps members deployed to the two states will now begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and conclude on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the statement, the adjustment was necessitated by ongoing large-scale renovations at the orientation camps in both states.
The state governments are currently upgrading the facilities, making it impractical to maintain the earlier schedule.
“This slight adjustment is due to the ongoing extensive renovation of the camps by the state governments, which has necessitated the change in date,” the NYSC said.
The scheme clarified that the timetable for all other states, including the Federal Capital Territory, remains unchanged.
Orientation exercises nationwide are scheduled to run from Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Affected prospective corps members have been advised to take note of the new dates and comply accordingly, while also making necessary travel adjustments.
The NYSC also wished all participants a safe journey to their respective states of deployment.
Earlier reports confirmed that call-up letters for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II had been released via the NYSC portal.
However, many candidates experienced temporary access issues due to heavy traffic shortly after the portal went live.
