Berger Paints Appoints New CFO

The Board of Berger Paints has approved the appointment of Mrs Phoebe Onyinye Obi as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, a move to achieve its aim of improved efficiency and value creation.

This was revealed in a statement released by company on the 5th of October 2020.

In her illustrious 15-year career, the Chartered Accountant (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountant, Nigeria) has worked with reputable companies locally and Internationally, acquiring vast experience in the process.

She worked with KPMG Professional Services (KPMG) for 9 years, rising to the management level. During those years, she played a leadership role in the execution of several projects in Consumer Markets which in turn amplified the client base of the company.

“She met and surpassed deadlines and requirements of multinational group reporting both under IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements”, her new employer reveals.

In January 2019, she became the Senior Accountant at Lion Seal Industries, a position she held for three months before moving to the UK to become the Head- Compliance and Financial Controls at Nomiworld/Sochitel Telecommunications Limited, a month later.

She studied Accounting at Backbock University, Remo, Ogun State for her first degree and Finance (Master’s level) at the University of Lagos.

“She has certifications in Professional Training and Certificates in Supervisory skills, Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel and Financial Modelling, KPMG Global Risk Management Training, United Nations E-course on Climate Change, amongst others,” the disclosure said Monday.
