Millhouse Legal Advisory is hiring a Legal Counsel to strengthen its Dispute Resolution, Banking, Debt Recovery & Insolvency, Finance & Compliance practice areas.
The firm is seeking a highly experienced legal professional to support its growing portfolio of high-stakes transactional, regulatory, and recovery matters. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, risk management, debt recovery advisory, and sophisticated transactional documentation.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior counsel and team leads on complex banking and finance transactions, loan documentation, debt restructuring, facility agreements, securities documentation, and recovery support.
Qualifications and Requirements
– Minimum of 5–13 years post-call experience, with preference for expertise in Dispute Resolution, Debt Recovery, Insolvency, Banking & Finance, or Compliance/Regulatory advisory.
– Proven proficiency in loan documentation, debt restructuring, securities, and facility agreements.
– Excellent drafting skills (agreements, opinions, regulatory letters, compliance reports).
– Strong due diligence, risk assessment, and attention to detail.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
– Research proficiency with legal databases, e-libraries, and digital tools.
– Relevant compliance certifications (e.g., AML/CFT) are an added advantage.
– Deep familiarity with CBN Guidelines, Prudential Regulations, AML/CFT obligations, FCCPC compliance, and corporate governance frameworks.
