Nestoil Group is recruiting a Drilling Supervisor to oversee safe and efficient drilling operations at a rig-based work location under its Scorpio Drilling business unit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising drilling activities, coordinating rig crews and specialist contractors, monitoring well-control procedures and ensuring operations remain within approved programmes.
What the Drilling Supervisor will do
The Drilling Supervisor will serve as the authority at the rig site, with responsibility for the safe execution of approved drilling programmes.

Key duties include:
- Running wells according to approved drilling programmes.
- Conducting pre-job briefings, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and permit-to-work verification.
- Supervising rig crews and service companies involved in directional drilling, mud, cementing, wireline and fishing operations.
- Verifying critical well-control tests, including BOP, annular and accumulator tests.
- Monitoring pit gains and ensuring appropriate kick detection and response.
- Approving operational step-changes, deviations and contingency actions when required.
- Maintaining well-barrier schematics and red-line drawings.
- Tracking operational costs and time against look-ahead plans.
- Preparing daily operations reports and contributing to morning reports.
- Verifying daily drilling reports and related operational records.
- Enforcing DROPS, lifting plans, confined-space and SIMOPS controls.
- Coordinating relevant safety requirements with marine and production teams.
Nestoil Drilling Supervisor requirements
Candidates are expected to have:
- 8–10 years of supervisory drilling experience.
- IWCF Level 4 certification.
- BOSIET/HUET certification.
- H2S certification.
- Strong knowledge of swamp logistics and barge operations.
- Experience working in rig-based drilling environments.
Key performance expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain strong safety and operational standards, including zero lost-time injuries, compliance with well-control drills, keeping non-productive time within plan and ensuring accurate reporting of daily costs and consumables.
The role also requires strict adherence to approved drilling programmes, with no unauthorised deviations.
