Role Overview

The Communications and Network Engagement Intern will support CIVICUS’ global engagement efforts across multiple digital platforms.

The role combines creativity, communication strategy, analytics, and relationship building.

Interns will contribute directly to advancing civic participation by helping develop compelling narratives, engaging online communities, and supporting collaborative communication initiatives across sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Narratives Network

  • Assist in developing and packaging communication outputs showcasing global network impact
  • Engage with CIVICUS members and partners to gather stories, quotes, and insights
  • Support internal learning and public dissemination of communications content
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for Narratives Network events

2. Develop Creative Social Media Content

  • Produce written stories, graphics, and video content for web and social platforms
  • Support innovative content experimentation across digital channels
  • Assist in creating animated video content using CIVICUS avatars
  • Help execute engagement strategies targeting CIVICUS’ global membership community

Eligibility Criteria

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in:
    • Communications
    • Marketing
    • Social Media
    • Creative Content Development
    • Related disciplines
  • Strong commitment to civic action, social impact, and civil society work
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Knowledge of a major Global South language is an advantage
