Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, better known as Davido, turned 33 today and celebrated the milestone with an intimate birthday gathering surrounded by family and close friends in Atlanta, Georgia.
The low-key but joyous celebration took place ahead of the Atlanta leg of his ongoing 5ive Alive Tour, which features a sold-out show at the 21,000-capacity State Farm Arena.
Among the guests were Davido’s billionaire father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke; his uncle and Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke; sister Sharon Adeleke; cousins Nike and Folashade Adeleke; wife Chioma Rowland Adeleke; manager Asa Asika; and longtime collaborator DJ ECool.
Videos shared across social media showed the music star in high spirits, cutting his birthday cake while being serenaded by loved ones amid music, laughter, and emotional toasts.
During the gathering, Davido reflected on his journey from dropping his debut single “Back When” at age 17 to becoming one of Africa’s biggest global exports at 33.
“This past year has been one of the best years of my life,” Davido said. “I dropped my first song at 17, now I’m 33.
I got married to the most beautiful woman in the world and we welcomed our twins. God has been good.”
The singer, who officially tied the knot with longtime partner Chioma in a lavish Lagos ceremony earlier this year, also welcomed twins with her in 2023.
In more exciting news for fans, Davido revealed that work on his sixth studio album is already underway, barely seven months after the release of his fifth album, 5ive, in April 2025.
The announcement has sent the 30BG fanbase into a frenzy, with many speculating that the next project may arrive sooner than expected.
Davido continues his 5ive Alive Tour across North America before returning to Africa for the final legs later this year.
