AU Executive council The African Union (AU) has rejected the nominees put forward by the Central African region for the position of commissioners in the body’s executive council.
The region had been called upon to put forward nominees for the positions of commissioner for Economic development, Trade, tourism, industry and minerals; and commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI) in the Executive council.
However after the submission of 13 candidates for both positions by the region, none was able to meet the criteria.
