Energia Limited has announced the appointment of Oladimeji Bashorun as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the vacancy created by the exit of Mr Chidi Egonu.
Bashorun, who previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), steps into the role following years of providing strategic and operational leadership within the organisation. During his tenure as COO, he led the company’s operations, driving operational efficiency and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Rich Industry Background
Oladimeji Bashorun is a seasoned energy executive with extensive experience spanning upstream oil and gas operations, asset management, and corporate leadership. He began his leadership trajectory as a Senior IT Project Manager at Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company, delivering large-scale digital and systems integration projects for upstream operations.
Before he was appointed CEO, he was Chief Operating Officer, overseeing daily operations, driving efficiency, and strengthening execution across business units.
Before joining Energia, he served as Project Manager within the Joint Project Management Team at Asharami Energy Limited, where he managed greenfield developments and brownfield optimization, with responsibility for profit and loss performance, safety leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement including regulatory bodies.
Bashorun built a significant part of his career at Shell Petroleum Development Company, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Manager of Pipelines Asset Integration, PD Safety Leadership Manager, and Production Unit Manager for the Land East Asset, driving production targets, operational excellence, and safety culture transformation.
His earlier roles included Facility Upgrade Project Management Services Lead and Production Systems & Strategy Coach in Malaysia, where he enhanced operational performance and aligned systems with global standards. He also worked as a Real-Time Operations Systems Engineer at Agip KCO in Kazakhstan, optimizing production through advanced monitoring systems.

Oladimeji Bashorun holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IE Business School, where he developed a strong foundation in global business strategy, leadership, and management.
