University of Benin Opens Applications for Teaching and Non-Teaching Jobs

The University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City, has announced vacancies for teaching and non-teaching staff across several faculties, departments, centres and administrative units.

The university is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for various academic, administrative, technical and support positions. The recruitment advertisement will remain open for six weeks from the date of publication.

Requirements

Candidates for senior academic positions are expected to have relevant postgraduate qualifications, teaching experience and evidence of scholarly research and publications, as applicable to their proposed rank.

Requirements for Senior Lecturer positions include a PhD, at least five years of teaching experience and a minimum of eight peer-reviewed publications, while requirements for other academic ranks differ according to the position.

Graduate Assistant positions require a relevant first degree of at least Second-Class Upper Division, with First-Class graduates particularly encouraged to apply.

Research Positions

The university has also advertised specialised research positions at centres including the Petroleum and Energy Systems Research Centre, the African Centre for Management and Leadership, and the Centre for Federalism and Democratic Studies.

Academic library positions, including Principal Librarian, Senior Librarian, Librarian I and Librarian II, are also included in the recruitment exercise.
