WAEC CEO

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has appointed the Head of its Nigerian National Office, Dr Amos Dangut, as its new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer.

Dangut’s appointment places him at the helm of the regional examination body, which is responsible for conducting and administering examinations across English-speaking West African countries.

He had been serving as the Head of WAEC’s Nigerian National Office, where he oversaw the council’s operations in Nigeria and its engagement with candidates, schools, government agencies and other stakeholders.

As Registrar and CEO, Dangut will be responsible for providing administrative and strategic leadership for the council, including its examination programmes, assessment processes and institutional operations across the West African region.

Dangut’s experience in the Nigerian National Office is expected to be relevant to his new responsibilities, particularly given Nigeria’s importance to WAEC’s examination operations and candidate population.
