The Oyo State Government has commenced online applications for its 2025/2026 General Bursary Awards, offering financial assistance to eligible final-year students of Oyo State origin studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Registration opened on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and will close on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. West Africa Time (WAT), according to the Oyo State Scholarship Board.
Eligibility
To qualify for the 2025/2026 General Bursary Awards, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an indigene of Oyo State.
- Be a final-year student in a Nigerian public tertiary institution.
- Be enrolled in a full-time academic programme.
- Not be studying outside Nigeria.
- Not attend a private tertiary institution.
Eligible categories include university undergraduates, Higher National Diploma (HND) students, National Certificate in Education (NCE) students, and students in clinical, aviation and maritime programmes.
However, final-year law students are excluded from the general bursary scheme.
Documents Required for the Application
Applicants are required to prepare clear digital copies of the following documents before beginning the online registration process:
- Admission letter.
- Local Government Identification Letter.
- Current student registration or course form, duly endorsed by the Head of Department.
- Recent passport photograph.
- Proof of membership of the Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU).
- Valid commercial bank account details belonging to the applicant.
Students who have not registered with FOSSU can visit the FOSSU registration portal to begin the process.
Applicants are advised to ensure that their personal information and supporting documents are accurate and consistent before submission.

Upload the admission letter, identification letter, endorsed course registration form, passport photograph and FOSSU membership evidence, alongside the required bank account details.

Check all entries carefully to ensure that the information matches the supporting documents before submitting the form.
Step 5: Save the confirmation details
After submission, save or print the application confirmation page and reference number. These details may be required to check the application status later.
