Mallam Abdullahi Hamisu has been appointed as the Director of Banking Services at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), effective March 3, 2025.

His career at the CBN began in foundational roles, where he honed his skills in managing the intricate logistics of banking services across Nigeria.

Hamisu’s early work focused on ensuring seamless coordination between the apex bank and Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), laying the groundwork for his later success.

Leadership as Coordinator

Prior to his directorship, Hamisu served as Coordinator of Banking Services under the Operations Directorate. In this capacity, he was the linchpin for nationwide banking operations, overseeing everything from cash distribution to interbank coordination.

His tenure saw improved oversight of DMBs, with a keen emphasis on regulatory compliance and operational fluidity. Colleagues praise his methodical approach, noting his ability to resolve bottlenecks and maintain stability in high-pressure environments.
