Role Summary

The Investment Analyst will work closely with IFC Investment Officers responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating, and supervising investment projects.

The position supports investments across North, West, Central, and the Horn of Africa, reporting directly to the Regional Investment Manager for Manufacturing, Chemicals, and Fertilizers.

Candidates will perform financial analysis, conduct market research, build financial models, and support transaction execution while ensuring projects align with IFC’s development objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Conduct detailed financial statement analysis and evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Build financial models to support investment decisions.
  • Perform discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis and comparable company valuations.
  • Research industries, markets, and business trends across Africa.
  • Assess project viability from financial, operational, environmental, and development perspectives.
  • Analyze debt pricing benchmarks and equity market comparables.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and business reports.
  • Coordinate information gathering from clients during due diligence.
  • Support investment structuring and portfolio monitoring.
  • Present financial data using charts, graphics, and analytical reports.
  • Draw lessons from previous IFC investments to improve future transactions.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Up to two years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate finance, project finance, private equity, or another financial institution.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, and financial markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic.
  • Interest in development finance and working in multicultural environments.
