Chinese smartphone maker Honor has launched its latest mid-to-premium devices, the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro, marking a shift toward simultaneous global availability after last year’s China-exclusive releases.
The new lineup debuts in Malaysia first, with wider European availability expected almost immediately, signaling Honor’s growing ambition to compete more aggressively in international markets.
Flagship-Inspired Design and Durability
The Honor 600 series introduces a refreshed design language, highlighted by a prominent camera module and bold color options, including a standout orange variant. The aesthetic draws comparisons to flagship devices such as the iPhone 17 Pro, reflecting a broader industry trend toward oversized camera housings.
Beyond design, both devices feature IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering resistance to dust and high-pressure water jets—an uncommon specification in this price segment.
High-End Displays Across Both Models
Both smartphones are equipped with identical 6.57-inch AMOLED displays featuring a 2728 × 1264 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak HDR brightness reaches 8,000 nits, placing the panels among the brightest in their class.
Honor has also emphasized eye comfort, integrating 3,840Hz PWM dimming and hardware-level blue light reduction, features typically reserved for flagship-tier devices.
The two models diverge significantly in processing power. The Honor 600 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, targeting upper mid-range performance, while the Honor 600 Pro is powered by the flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, previously seen in high-end Android devices.
Both variants come with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
200MP Cameras Lead Imaging Capabilities
Photography remains central to the series, with both devices featuring a 200MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide camera, alongside a 50MP front-facing shooter.
The Pro model gains a competitive edge with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering approximately 3x optical zoom and extended digital zoom capabilities, positioning it closer to flagship photography standards.
Large Batteries and Fast Charging
Battery capacity is a major highlight. Units sold in Asia pack a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while European variants ship with a slightly reduced 6,400mAh capacity.
Both models support 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The Pro variant additionally includes 50W wireless charging, further differentiating it from the base model.
AI Integration and Software Advancements
Running on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, the Honor 600 series places strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. A dedicated AI button provides quick access to features, including the new AI Image-to-Video 2.0 tool.
This feature enables users to generate short videos from multiple images using on-device processing, reflecting a growing shift toward multimodal AI capabilities in smartphones.
With the 600 series, Honor is blending flagship-grade features—such as high-resolution cameras, advanced AI tools, and premium durability—with more accessible pricing. The strategy positions the brand to compete directly with both premium mid-range and entry-level flagship devices in an increasingly crowded global smartphone market.
