Regional HR Leadership Across Africa

The successful candidate will oversee strategic HR operations for the foundation’s offices in Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Senegal, and South Africa.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Regional HR Business Partner for Africa, the role combines strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on HR leadership.

According to the job description, the Regional Senior HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, aligning workforce strategies with organizational priorities while ensuring an inclusive and high-performing work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The role covers a broad range of human resource functions, including:

  • Leading performance management processes, including mid-year and annual reviews.
  • Supporting talent management, succession planning, and employee mobility across Africa.
  • Advising leadership on organizational restructuring and change management initiatives.
  • Managing employee relations and resolving workplace issues.
  • Overseeing compensation reviews, salary adjustments, and benefits administration.
  • Driving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the region.
  • Managing relationships with outsourced HR service providers.
  • Advocating for employee engagement and enhancing workplace experience.

The position also involves coaching managers, supporting organizational development, and collaborating with global HR teams to ensure consistent people practices across the foundation’s African operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants are expected to possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
  • A master’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 10 years of professional HR experience, including a minimum of four years as an HR Business Partner.
  • Strong expertise in talent management, compensation, succession planning, and employment law.
  • Experience working in matrixed or global organizations.
  • Knowledge of Workday HRIS is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and analytical skills.

Candidates must also be legally authorized to work in Nigeria without requiring visa sponsorship.
