The programmes, administered by the university’s School of Sub-degree Programmes, are designed to prepare prospective students for admission into undergraduate degree programmes at FUPRE and other universities.
FUPRE Basic Programme
The Pre-degree/Basic Programme will run for one academic session, from October 2026 to July 2027. It is designed to prepare candidates for admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) into 100-level degree programmes at FUPRE.
Applicants must possess at least five Ordinary Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings. Candidates awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.
Applicants who meet the requirements will be invited to sit for a written qualifying examination. Successful candidates will be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦25,000.
The application fee for the Basic Programme is ₦10,000 and is payable online through the FUPRE sub-degree application portal.
FUPRE Foundation/JUPEB Programme
The Foundation/JUPEB Programme will run from September 2026 to August 2027 and is designed to prepare candidates for admission into 200-level degree programmes at FUPRE, other JUPEB-affiliated universities and international universities.
Candidates must have five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings. Unlike the Basic Programme, awaiting results will not be accepted.
Qualified applicants will be invited for a written qualifying examination, while successful candidates will pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦50,000. The application fee for the Foundation/JUPEB Programme is ₦15,000.

Applications for both programmes can be submitted through the FUPRE sub-degree portal at https://soap.fupre.edu.ng/subdegree or by selecting “Apply Now” under the Basic and Foundation Programme section on https://soap.fupre.edu.ng.
Application Deadline
The closing date for applications is 12:00 noon on Monday, August 31, 2026 while the entrance examination for admission into the programmes is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Basic/Foundation Building.
