Fashion designers, illustrators and enthusiasts based in Africa can apply for a freestyle online fashion design contest called Africa’s Got Style Fashion Design Competition 2021. The initiative is meant to support designers who can combine African textiles and styles to make innovative wears.

A maximum of 108 contestants will participate and 5 of them will emerge winners with the first, second and third winning prizes of $1000, $500 and $300 respectively together with sponsorship, endorsement and equipment empowerment.

2. Farmers for the Further (F4F) Grant 2021 Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme for Serving Youth Corp Members

Current National Youth Service Corps members who are aspiring agripreneurs can apply for the Farmers for the Further (F4F) grant which is designed to support them with equity-free capital and other associated support required to scale their businesses.

The initiative is developed and sponsored by British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) in partnership with NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) and implemented by SAEDConnect.

After all applications have been received, 20 selected business will go through a virtual bootcamp and 10 businesses will be shortlisted. Three businesses will eventually be selected as winners. 3. Call for Innovative Medtech Device Start-ups

Innovative Medtech Device Start-ups based in Africa are called to apply for funding up to $20,000 and incubation from Villgro Africa, an impact investor and early stage business incubator that supports startups innovating for low and middle income countries. 4. THET Small Grants for UK Partnerships For Health Systems (UKPHS)

Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) is welcoming grant application from new and established partnerships in any low and lower middle income country in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia that are addressing one or several of the following themes: innovation; gender equality and/or social inclusion; climate change; blended and remote learning. 5. Agropolis Foundation 2021 Olam Prize For Innovation in Food Security

Agribusinesses, academic or research institutions and civil societies from any region that have innovative ideas on any part of agricultural supply chain can participate in the Agropolis Foundation 2021 Olam Prize for Innovation in Food Security. The programme brings together over 40 member institutions, public authorities and civil society actors for dialogue and interaction on agriculture, food and environment research. This year’s programme will help the recovery of SMEs and young Africans entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
