American singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to disturbance of public order in connection with a 2023 nightclub altercation in London.
Brown entered the guilty plea on Friday at Southwark Crown Court after admitting to the public order offence. Responding to the charge, the 37-year-old simply told the court, “Guilty.”
The plea means Brown will no longer face trial on allegations of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon involving a bottle. Prosecutors said those charges, which the singer had previously denied, will be formally withdrawn at a later stage.
Case Details
The case relates to an incident at Tape, a private members’ club in London’s Hanover Square, on February 19, 2023, during Brown’s UK tour. Prosecutors alleged that a man was struck with a bottle before being chased and assaulted during the confrontation.
The other individual charged over the incident also pleaded guilty to affray and is expected to be sentenced alongside Brown.
Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26. He has remained on £5 million (approximately $6.7 million) bail since his release.
The singer was arrested in May 2025 at a luxury hotel in Manchester shortly after arriving in the UK by private jet. He spent nearly a week in custody before being granted bail, after which the court allowed him to proceed with his European tour that began in Amsterdam in June.
