The Supreme Court has affirmed David Mark’s leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that the initial ‘Status quo Antebellum’ order is void.
In the suit “Senator David Mark v Nafiu Bala & Ors”
The Supreme Court held that the order to maintain status quo by the Court of Appeal is set aside. The case is referred back to the trial court for determination.

This means that the David Mark-led executive is restored, pending the determination of the matter at the trial court.
The ruling might however become a landmine for top figures in the coalition as the Federal high Court ruling may not come before the INEC deadline for the submission of party membership register which could potentially rule out top members of the coalition from the 2027 elections if the David Mark led party leadership fail to get a favorable judgment.
