The African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) has commenced application for its 2025 internship programme.

Duration: Up to 6 months

About the internship programme

The internship programme is open to students or post- graduate students from Afreximbank member states looking to gain real-world experience in trade, finance, and economic development.

It is also open to talented individuals from the African diaspora and Non-African students passionate about Africa’s development.

As part is the program, Afreximbank offers an opportunity to work with industry experts, develop hands-on skills, and contribute to Africa’s economic growth.

The programme is open to students who are:

  1. Students with proof of enrollment in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study programmes in a recognised institution of learning in the year of the internship are preferred.The Bank will be especially interested in candidates whose field of study is in : economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering or related fields;
  2. Nationals of the Afreximbank Group member states, students of African descent in the diaspora and non-African students whose vision for the transformation of Africa resonates with the mission of Afreximbank.
  3. Fluency in English or French and a working knowledge of the other. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese will be an added advantage, and
  4. Candidates must be aged between 20 and 32 in the year in which they apply for the internship;
  5. Any other applicants as may be approved by the President;
  6. Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible to participate in this programme.
