FTN Cocoa Processors Interim Chairman

FTN Cocoa Processors Plc has announced the appointment of  Otunba Wale Jubril as its Interim Chairman following the death of its Board Chairman, High Chief (Sir) S.O. Oguntimihin, to ensure continuity in the company’s leadership.

The company said its Board of Directors, at a meeting held on July 21, 2026, approved the appointment of Jubril as Interim Chairman, effective from the same date. His appointment will remain in effect pending the appointment of a substantive Chairman, in accordance with the company’s Articles of Association and applicable regulatory requirements.

Rich Professional Background

Jubril brings more than three decades of experience across banking, capital markets, finance, corporate governance and strategic management to the role. He qualified as an Authorised Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1992 and became a Chartered Stockbroker in the same year.

Jubril subsequently held senior finance positions, including Executive Director, Finance at Paints and Coatings Manufacturers Nigeria Plc from 2009. In that role, he was involved in financial planning, project appraisal, pricing and negotiations with major oil and gas companies, including Chevron, NLNG and Total.

In 2021, he joined Float Securities Limited, where he currently serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Jubril has been a Non-Executive Director of FTN Cocoa Processors Plc since 2015. He was also appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of Gateway Mortgage Bank, wholly owned by the Ogun State Government, in November 2022.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Lagos, obtained in 1988, as well as Master’s degrees in Marketing, International Law and Diplomacy, and Economics from the same university in 1993, 1998 and 1999 respectively.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria. He is also a registered Capital Market Operator with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
