Canadian Immigration Minister Lena Diab has announced the introduction of new priority categories in addition to existing Express Entry visa categories to attract skilled professionals to the country.
This means IRCC will continue to hold invitation rounds to select candidates with strong French skills as well as those with work experience in Healthcare and social services, such as nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, chiropractors, etc.
The same will be done with trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and machinists, to support nation-building, housing, and infrastructure projects as well as support education, occupations, science, technology, engineering, and math. There are also provisions for STEM categories, including engineers and cybersecurity specialists.
