Chams Holding Company Plc has announced the appointment of Segun Oloketuyi as the Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 9, 2026, following the retirement of the company’s founder, Sir Demola Aladekomo, after four decades of leadership.

The company disclosed that the Board approved the appointment in line with its corporate governance processes and applicable regulatory requirements.

Oloketuyi succeeds Aladekomo, who stepped down after a 40-year tenure that shaped the growth and strategic direction of the Chams Group. The Board thanked the outgoing chairman for his exemplary leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the company.

Oloketuyi’s Career

Oloketuyi is an accomplished banking and financial services executive with decades of experience in banking, corporate finance, enterprise risk management, and corporate governance.

He previously served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc, where he led the bank’s transformation and growth initiatives.

Before joining Wema Bank, he held senior leadership positions at Skye Bank Plc, including General Manager of the Business Optimization Division and Executive Director for Business Development.

He also served at Polaris Bank (formerly Prudent Bank Plc) as Deputy General Manager overseeing Corporate and Commercial Markets before becoming Executive Director responsible for Finance and Enterprise Risk Management.

Earlier in his career, Oloketuyi was the Managing Director of Bond Bank Limited and began his professional career as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a member of the Institute of Directors and the Ikoyi Club.
