The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the appeal filed by a factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, over the ongoing leadership dispute within the party.
A five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, announced on Wednesday that the date for judgment delivery will be communicated to all parties through their legal representatives.
The announcement came after counsel to all parties adopted their final written addresses and urged the court to grant their respective reliefs.
The appeal, marked SC/CV/180/2026, challenges the March 12, 2026 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed Mark’s earlier appeal against a Federal High Court ruling delivered on September 4, 2025.
The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, had declined to grant certain injunctive reliefs sought in an ex-parte application filed by ADC chieftain Nafiu Bala Gombe in relation to the party’s leadership tussle.
The Supreme Court’s final decision is now being awaited as the dispute continues to generate political attention within the ADC.
Further details are expected upon the court’s pronouncement of judgment.
