VFS Global has consolidated several of its visa application centres in Lagos into a single, centralized facility in Lekki, marking a significant operational shift for visa processing in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The new hub, located at 2 Purple Way, off Freedom Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, within Purple Lekki Mall, became operational in phases throughout March 2026. The move replaces multiple former locations, including the widely used Manor House site in Ikate.

The relocation affects visa applicants to several key destinations, with country-specific centres transitioning on different dates.

For applicants to China, the visa application centre officially began operations at the new location on 16 March 2026, with services continuing without disruption. Meanwhile, the Canada Visa Application Centre resumed services at the Lekki facility on 2 March 2026, following a brief closure in late February to facilitate the move.

Schengen visa services, which cover multiple European destinations including Austria, were relocated effective 9 March 2026. On the same date, visa processing centres for Angola, Japan, and South Africa also transitioned to the new centralized facility.

The consolidation reflects a broader strategy by VFS Global to streamline operations, improve processing efficiency, and enhance customer experience through a modern, purpose-built environment.

While most services have moved, applicants are advised to note that certain ancillary services such as specific biometric collection centres may still operate from previous locations depending on the country and visa category.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to verify appointment details and location-specific instructions via the official VFS Global country portals before visiting, as minor variations in floor levels and service arrangements have been reported.

The transition is expected to impact thousands of Nigerian travellers, students, and business professionals seeking visas, particularly as demand for international travel continues to recover and expand.
