Nigerians to Now Pay N1.6 million For 5-year UK Visit Visa as UK Increases Visa Application Fees

Nigerians interested in visiting the United Kingdom for a 5-year period would now have to pay 858 pounds, approximately N1.6 million, as visa application fees. This is due to changes in UK visa application fees for foreign nationals expected to come into effect in April 2025.

New Visa Application Fees

The new application fees were recently announced by the UK Visas and Immigration home office and would come into effect on 9th, April 2025.

Under the new fee schedule, a short visit visa would now cost 127 pounds up from 115 pounds, a two-year visit visa would now cost 475 pounds up from 432 pounds while a 5-year visit visa would now cost 848 pounds up from 771 pounds.

A ten-year visit visa would now cost 1059 pounds up from 963 pounds while a visiting academic and private medical treatment visa of more than six months but not up to twelve months would now cost 220 pounds each up from 200 pounds. On the other hand, a Global Talent visa would now cost 766 pounds up from 716 pounds.

Study Visa Application Fees

The study visa application fees have also been increased as part of the recent changes made by the UK Visas and Immigration.

A student visa for main applicant and dependents would now cost 524 pounds up from 490 pounds while a child student visa would also carry the same changes.

For short term students studying English Language for more than six months but not more than eleven months however, their visa application fees have been increased from 200 pounds to 214 pounds.
