The Role: Analyst Intern (6 Months)
Catalyst Fund is seeking a highly motivated Analyst Intern to support its investment and portfolio work. This role is suited to analytically strong candidates who are curious about venture capital, African startups, and climate innovation.
You will work closely with the investment team on sector research, deal screening, financial analysis, and portfolio support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investment & Sector Research
Conduct deep-dive research on climate resilience sectors across Africa
Analyse business models, regulatory contexts, and market dynamics
Produce concise internal memos and sector briefs
2. Dealflow & Startup Analysis
Screen inbound startup applications
Perform competitor benchmarking and customer research
Draft investment screening notes and market summaries
3. Financial & Commercial Analysis
Conduct basic financial modelling
Analyse unit economics, pricing structures, and market sizing
Support commercial due diligence processes
4. Pipeline & Knowledge Management
Maintain internal pipeline trackers
Support data organisation and internal research repositories
5. Portfolio Support
Assist with investor mapping and partnership research
Track KPIs and performance indicators for portfolio companies
