This is an equity-only co-founder role, offering a significant ownership stake, and is best suited to an entrepreneurial leader

Bloomvest, a fast-growing fintech start-up focused on making personal finance simple, accessible, and culturally relevant for Africans is hiring a Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer (Equity-Only).

About Bloomvest

The Bloomvest mobile application (available on Android and iOS) enables users to save, invest, participate in digital Ajo (modernised thrift and contribution circles), and pay utility bills all within one secure and intuitive platform.

Inspired by real-life financial challenges across Africa, Bloomvest is building tools that promote financial discipline, community-driven savings, and long-term wealth creation. With early traction, a passionate founding team, and a growing user base, Bloomvest is well positioned to scale across Nigeria and other African markets.

It is seeking a visionary Co-Founder & CEO to lead Bloomvest into its next phase of growth. This is an equity-only co-founder role, offering a significant ownership stake, and is best suited to an entrepreneurial leader ready to take full ownership of strategy, execution, fundraising, team building, and scale.

You will partner with an existing founding team comprising experienced fintech and product builders and will serve as the primary driver of Bloomvest’s vision, culture, and commercial success.

Establish and embed a strong company culture, leading by example with execution excellence and accountability.

Product & Execution

Own high-level product strategy, ensuring Bloomvest delivers intuitive, high-impact solutions across savings, investments, digital Ajo circles, and bill payments.

Drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies tailored to African markets and consumer behaviour.

Lead strategic partnerships with financial institutions, payment providers, and ecosystem partners.

Identify and execute market expansion opportunities within Nigeria and across Africa.

Lead all fundraising initiatives, including pitch development, investor outreach, and negotiations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with angels, venture capital firms, accelerators, and strategic partners.

Act as the primary point of contact for investors and key external stakeholders.

Regulation, Compliance & Governance

Navigate the African fintech regulatory landscape, with a strong focus on Nigeria (including CBN guidelines).

Ensure regulatory compliance through appropriate licensing strategies and institutional partnerships.

Proactively manage regulatory and operational risk while enabling product innovation.

Brand & External Representation

Represent Bloomvest publicly at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.

Build trust and credibility with users, regulators, partners, and the broader fintech ecosystem.

Position Bloomvest as a leading and trusted brand in personal finance and financial inclusion.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven entrepreneurial or senior leadership experience, ideally as a founder/co-founder or senior leader in a high-growth start-up (fintech experience strongly preferred).

Strong passion for financial inclusion and solving real-world money challenges for everyday Africans, including disciplined saving and community-based finance.

Excellent product judgement, with experience working on mobile applications and user-centred design.

Demonstrated ability to scale teams, products, and operations in fast-paced environments.

Fundraising experience, with exposure to raising capital from angels, venture capital firms, or accelerators.

Solid understanding of the African fintech ecosystem, particularly Nigeria’s payments, savings products, thrift culture, and regulatory framework.

Exceptional leadership qualities, resilience, and ability to thrive in ambiguity.

Technical literacy is an advantage (e.g. familiarity with app development, fintech infrastructure, or security), but not essential.

Compensation & Structure

Equity-only compensation, with a meaningful co-founder ownership stake.

Standard vesting schedule aligned with long-term value creation and commitment.

No cash salary at inception
