Real Madrid defeated Barcelona by 2 goals to 1 to win the first El Clasico of the 2025/2026 season at the Santiago Bernabau.
Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham were enough to lift Real Madrid above the catalans whose only goal came from Fermin Lopez.
Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty that would have put the game beyond doubt in the second half but Real Madrid were able to hold on to the win and extend their lead at the top of the La Liga standings.
