Jackson put Chelsea ahead in the 4th minute of play; then scored again in the 18th minute.
Palmer added a third!
West Ham denied a penalty after VAR check.
Chelsea punished a poor defensive performance by West Ham United at the London Stadium. This resulted in Enzo Maresca’s side currently sitting in second position in the premier league table. While Julen Lopetegui’s side will have a lot of soul-searching to do after the abysmal performance, as boos rang out at the London Stadium at full-time.
Jackson opened the scoring early on when West Ham’s poor defending allowed him to beat Alphonse Areola after exchanging passes with Jadon Sancho. The hammer’s completely switched off again soon afterward, leaving Moises Caicedo free to send Jackson sprinting through a composed second goal. Any hopes of a come-back were denied for the Hammers straight after half-time when Chelsea exposed West Ham’s defensive weakness again, with Jackson now becoming a provider to set up Cole Palmer for a decisive finish following a rapid counter-attack.
West Ham’s only true opportunity was a penalty appeal contentiously denied by the VAR. When Wesley Fofana’s pull on Crysencio Summerville was not deemed to be “sustained holding”. Following their losses against Aston Villa and Manchester City, West Ham have now lost their first three home games of a league season for the first time in their history. While the Hammers continue to struggle, Chelsea make it three wins out of three on away games in the Premier League.
