Agbu Kefas Taraba Governor

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress, APC. The governor received his APC membership card at the Government House in Jalingo on Sunday.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Mr Kefas expressed appreciation to party executives and members for the warm reception accorded him across the state.

“I received my All Progressives Congress (APC) membership card from Hon. Umaru Tanko, chairman of the APC Hospital Ward in Wukari Local Government Area,” the governor wrote in a post on X.

“I appreciate the warm welcome from the executives and members of the APC in Taraba State.”

Mr Kefas said his decision to join the APC was taken in the interest of governance and party unity in the state.

He added that although a grand defection ceremony earlier scheduled for November would be announced at a later date, his registration now enables him to fully participate in the activities of the party.

He becomes the fifth sitting governor to join the APC from PDP in 2025 following earlier defections by Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state, Peter Mbah of Enugu state, Sheriff Oborevwori  of Delta state and Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom.
