Forte Upstream Services Limited (FUSL), a wholly Nigerian-owned oilfield chemicals and engineering services company, has appointed Damilola Orireyemi as its Finance Team Lead.
The company announced the appointment recently, describing itself as “thrilled” to welcome Orireyemi to the team and expressing confidence that his experience will support business growth, strengthen financial governance and contribute to operational excellence. Orireyemi brings experience spanning accounting operations, financial management, invoicing and corporate finance across the consumer goods, travel and other sectors.
Rich Financial Sector Experience
Before joining FUSL, he served as an Accountant at Finchglow Travels Limited, a position he took up in June 2024.
Prior to Finchglow, Orireyemi was Finance Officer at Black Pelican Limited from March 2023 to April 2024. In the role, he was responsible for supervising and managing day-to-day financial activities, with a focus on accuracy, financial controls and operational efficiency.
He previously spent more than two years at International Refreshments Company Ltd., the PepsiCo franchise bottler, where he worked as an Accounting Operations Assistant from November 2020 to April 2023.
At International Refreshments Company, Orireyemi handled daily sales invoicing using SAP and was involved in opening accounts for new customers.
His earlier experience includes a two-year stint as an Invoicing Officer at Pioneer Foods in Ikeja, Lagos, from July 2018 to October 2020. His responsibilities included SAP-based sales invoicing and customer account management.
Educational Background
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Landmark University, where he studied from 2011 to 2015.
At FUSL, Orireyemi joins a business providing specialised chemicals and engineering solutions to operators across Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas value chain.
His appointment comes as indigenous oilfield service companies operate in an environment shaped by increasing emphasis on local participation, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance and stronger corporate governance.
For an upstream services business, the Finance Team Lead role extends beyond routine accounting. Accurate financial reporting, cost monitoring, internal controls and effective financial management are important to maintaining operational efficiency in a capital-intensive sector exposed to changing commodity prices and regulatory requirements.
Orireyemi’s progression from invoicing and accounting operations into finance management provides him with experience across several stages of the finance function as he takes on his new role at Forte Upstream Services.
