The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the release of PIN codes for 9,082 trained teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across Ghana, marking the commencement of the registration process for the 2025/2026 National Service Year. This significant step was communicated through a press release signed by Felix Gyamfi, the NSA’s director-general.
According to the press release, a total of 16,159 trained teachers were initially submitted by the 36 Colleges of Education for upload into the NSA system for National Service. However, challenges have arisen in the process:
“It must be noted that the 36 Colleges of Education submitted a total of 16,159 trained teachers for upload into the NSA System for National Service.”
Despite the initial submission, 7,077 trained teachers are yet to be uploaded into the system because their institutions have not provided the necessary cover letters:
“However, 7,077 Trained Teachers are yet to be uploaded, as their respective institutions have not provided the required cover letters. As a result, their details cannot be processed by the Authority.”
Accreditation Status
Of the 9,082 successfully uploaded trained teachers, a significant portion, 5,336, hail from institutions with expired accreditation. This leaves only 3,746 students from colleges with active accreditation recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
This discrepancy highlights that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 maintain active accreditation with GTEC, while 22 have expired accreditations:
Implications for Registration
In line with NSA’s commitment to compliance and transparency, the registration of the prospective personnel from institutions with expired accreditation will be put on hold until their accreditation status with GTEC is regularized:
The NSA urges these affected colleges to engage with GTEC promptly to renew their accreditation status to facilitate the PIN code activation and registration process for their students

PIN Code Access and Registration Process
Prospective service persons can access their PIN codes by logging into the NSA portal at https://www.nss.gov.gh/.
After obtaining their PIN codes, prospective personnel must proceed with payment:
GHS 40 – Payment at any ADB Branch
GHS 41 – Payment via Mobile Money (MOMO)
This payment activates the PIN code, allowing candidates to proceed with registration. The registration window is open from February 14, 2025, to February 28, 2025
