Nigerian billionaire investor and philanthropist Femi Otedola has announced that he is working on a new book titled Making It Bigger, a sequel of sorts to his widely discussed 2025 memoir, Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business.
The chairman of First HoldCo shared the update on Monday through his verified X account, revealing that he spent part of the day in Geneva writing the manuscript before taking a cycling trip through the Swiss city.
Accompanying the announcement was a short video showing the businessman cycling outdoors in casual sportswear.

“This sunny afternoon today in Geneva, taking a ride after a busy morning writing a few pages of my next book, Making It Bigger,” Otedola wrote.
While he confirmed the title, the billionaire did not disclose what themes the new publication will explore, nor did he announce an expected release date or publisher.
A follow-up to his business memoir
The announcement comes roughly a year after Otedola released Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business, a memoir that chronicled his rise from entrepreneur to one of Africa’s most influential business figures.
The book detailed his experiences building businesses across Nigeria’s energy sector, navigating economic cycles, overcoming financial setbacks, and transitioning into strategic investments spanning banking, infrastructure, and philanthropy.
It also offered personal reflections on leadership, resilience, corporate governance and wealth creation—topics that resonated with entrepreneurs, business executives and young professionals across Nigeria.
Although Otedola has not revealed whether Making It Bigger continues the narrative of his earlier memoir, the title suggests a broader discussion on business growth, legacy, long-term investing and leadership.
The book announcement arrives amid a busy period for the businessman, who has remained visible through corporate activities, philanthropy and public engagements.
In recent months, Otedola has attracted public attention after reflecting on a ₦200 million scholarship donation he made in 2005 during an event chaired by President Bola Tinubu, highlighting the long-term impact of investing in education.
He also recently hosted fellow billionaire Aliko Dangote in Monaco, describing their decades-long friendship as “one of my greatest investments,” a remark that drew widespread attention on social media and within Nigeria’s business community.
Growing influence as a business author
Business memoirs by leading entrepreneurs have become increasingly popular in Nigeria as executives seek to document lessons from their careers while mentoring a younger generation of founders.
Otedola’s first book was widely discussed for offering an insider’s perspective on corporate decision-making, risk management, business failures and eventual success.
His latest announcement suggests he intends to expand that conversation, although readers will have to wait for further details regarding the book’s themes, publication schedule and launch plans.
For now, Making It Bigger remains one of the most anticipated forthcoming titles from one of Nigeria’s best-known business leaders.
